It is part of three photographs I took to complete my Mastering the Art of Food Photography Course, but the main idea was to invite the observer to eat an appetizing piece of beefsteak with the exotic fried yucca. The angle of the point of view is “downward,” so that’s how you should see it in front of you. Simple, tasty: the less is more. It was the best piece of meat I ever tasted.

This food photograph titled garlic was taken with a Canon 20D camera and a 50mm lens with one Multiblitz 250W studio light. It was a photography exercise vegetable / still life photography with one flashlight in an improvised studio in my apartment back in 2005. I also used one softbox 70cm.

Helps to enhance the curves of the fruits. Creates the feeling of homemade jam, like Granny, used to prepare.
