Majestic! by Subramaniam K V

Award Winner   |   Photo of the Day   |   April 22nd  |  0 Reviews

This picture was taken in Artis Zoo at Amsterdam. Artis is one of the oldest Zoo in Europe, found in 1838 nearly two centuries ago with 700 species of animals and 200 varieties of trees. It was the first time I saw a lion this close and also it was our daughter’s first trip to the zoo. Looking at the lion, gave me an impression that it knew the daily drill of coming out of its den and posing for photographs. However, it also made me think that they will be happier if they were in their own habitat.

What started as weekend trips to kill boredom developed as a keen hobby for Subramaniam K V, an amateur photographer from Kanyakumari, India. It was a visit to Japan for his work in 2006 that started his interests towards photography. Photographing animals, birds, people and nature are his areas of interests. He strongly believes that photography is a medium to keep moments forever. He also believes that for a good photography, an excellent eye and right moment is the key. His dream is to shoot the great migration of wildebeests at Masai Mara in Africa. Subramaniam currently lives in Munich with his family.
