Kirsten Bruening

Kirsten Bruening is an award-winning professional photographer. She lives with her family near Cologne. Her passion for photography started when she was a child. Kirsten’s father recognized her talent and passion early on and enabled her to pursue this hobby at a young age. After a long hiatus of many years, she returned to photography in 2018. Kirsten quickly realized that she wanted to expand and deepen her knowledge. Kirsten has been a student at Light and Composition University since 2019 and, in addition to various diplomas, she completed her Bfa in photojournalism and her master’s degree in photojournalism there. Kirsten focused in particular on black and white photography. “Photographs in black and white give us a glimpse into a magical world, a world of pure and unique photography. “I think the strongest connection a photographer can make is friendship with light. Photography means painting with light and creating unique and great works of art. Black and white photographs allow the viewer to see more than is ever possible in a color photograph.”
