Calibrating Your Display

027.2 Lesson 02 of 08 3 quiz questions 1 assignment

A food photograph is seen on a screen before it is seen anywhere else. If the screen is not calibrated, the photographer cannot trust what they see — they may brighten a correctly exposed image because their screen shows it as too dark, or saturate the colours of a dish that is already perfectly rendered. Monitor calibration is not optional for professional food photography; it is foundational.
