Salty by Alejandra Sierra
In this intimate macro study, the photographer transforms a ubiquitous New York City street snack into a compelling visual subject. By shifting the perspective to an extreme close-up, the image elevates the humble pretzel from a mundane daily object into a textured landscape of light and form. This deliberate creative choice challenges the viewer to reconsider the beauty hidden in plain sight. The photograph is award-worthy for its technical precision and its ability to turn a fleeting urban moment into a sophisticated, artistic exploration of food photography.
