Home Reflections The Quiet Before Morning

The Quiet Before Morning

I woke up before my alarm today, which almost never happens. The house was completely silent, and for a few minutes, I just sat on the edge of my bed, listening to the world hold its breath. There is something strange about those early moments when the day hasn’t asked anything of you yet. You aren’t a worker, a friend, or a person with a to-do list; you are just a body in a room, waiting for the sun to catch up. We spend so much of our lives rushing to fill the space, adding noise and movement to every hour, that we forget how powerful it is to simply exist in the stillness. It feels like a secret, doesn’t it? To be awake while the rest of the world is still tucked away in dreams, untouched and unhurried. I wonder if we would be kinder to ourselves if we let those quiet, fragile moments last a little longer.

Bruixa by Riudavets Ernesto Vidal

Riudavets Ernesto Vidal has captured this exact feeling of stillness in the image titled Bruixa. It feels like a pause in the middle of a meadow, waiting for the rest of the world to wake up. Does this image make you want to slow down, too?
