A Silhouette on the Wall
I found myself staring at the wall of my kitchen this evening, watching the silhouette of the window frame slowly climb the cabinet as the sun dipped behind the opposite roof. For a brief ten minutes, the ordinary room became a canvas of dramatic contrast. As children, we didn’t need elaborate stages; a bare wall and a single beam of afternoon light was enough to invent an entire kingdom of heroes, giants, and soaring birds. We lose that simplicity so quickly. We trade the enchantment of a shadow for screens and schedules, forgetting that the most captivating stories were the ones drawn with nothing but sunshine and our own eager hands.

This playful wonder lives inside Arif Hossain Sayeed’s photograph titled Shadow Boy. It brought back the warm, carefree afternoons of Dhaka and the joy of simple games. Did you ever play with shadows until the sun went down?
