A Moment of Tranquility

I stopped for a second to breathe in the serenity and peace surrounding me. I was caught off-guard by this sudden stillness and solitude. I was more unprepared for what came next, but for you to understand, let me explain a little more about me…I can’t stand being alone and find this really difficult. I like being in a crowd, chatting and laughing; sitting still, being quiet, standing alone, is out of the question. But, this moment was different from others; this second was different from the rest of my 27 years.

For the first time in my life, I loved being alone, I really appreciated the tranquility. The seconds became minutes and before I realized, minutes became hours. It was so peaceful and quiet. A moment to savour, a time to be still and let go of my petty worries, day-to-day problems, and emotional turbulence. It felt so right to surrender myself to a higher being, it was a time to meditate, just to breathe in and breathe out. Breathe in the peace breathe out the worries…a serene time.

This is the story of how I gained my inner peace on a pleasant sunset by the Kolatoli beach at Cox’s Bazar and pleasantly reminded of this true story when I saw this beautiful photo taken by Stefanie Laroussinie. Does this photo remind you of a story?
