The famous Charles Bridge, completed in 1402, is lined with statues of Catholic saints and is now intended for pedestrians only, where you can see all the daily street performances.

A Beggar on Charles Bridge by Mirka Krivankova

Charles Bridge is the oldest standing bridge over the Vltava River in Prague and the second oldest surviving bridge in the Czech Republic. Here you can find beggars who will kneel for hours on the pavement in supplication, or just sitting and waiting for others who may grant a favor with money.
