Born in Italy, Claudio now lives in Thornhill, Canada where he exercises his passion for photography. Over a career spanning three decades Claudio has delved into a number of photographic disciplines including: weddings, portraits, product, corporate and stock. His current focus is on travel, wildlife, nature and adding to his extensive stock library. Claudio’s photograph Fishing for Salmon awarded in the Photo of the Day Award in the category of Wildlife Photography, as it scored a solid 72.5 (Value 13.5, Clarity 13.5, Composition 18.5, Style 13, Skill 14) from our international jury of 5. The number of Google+, Facebook shares, and StumbleUpon Organic Views boosted the popularity of the photograph, raising its score to 5.31 from social media (Facebook Share 4.805, G+ 0.5, StumbleUpon Organic View 0.005, and Comments 0), and in total 77.81, the highest score in this competition for the 67th Month. We will publish a special interview with Claudio Bacinello in the Exclusive Interview section on our website. For this month, we had a head-to-head contest between the top scorers and the photographs that scored the highest became winners of the Photo of the Month. Ahmed Mohammed Albadawy, Architect and Photographer. Born in Mansoura, Egypt, in 1985. He is one of the founders of Gozour, architecture and design studio “http://www.gozourstudio.com/”. Ahmed started his photography career in April 2010. His photography perspective grows up dramatically with Architecture. Ahmed’s photograph Al-Masjid al-Ḥaram, in the category of Islamic Photography scored 68.5 (Value 12.5, Clarity 12.5, Composition 18, Style 12.5, Skill 13) from our international jury of 5, and gains a good position in the competition. A computer graduate from the University of Duhok, Bawar Mohammad was born in 1985, in the city of Duhok, Kurdistan. He has been working in the directorate-general of culture and arts of Duhok, and currently working as a journalist and a freelance photographer in Kurdistan and Dewe. To him photography is his life. He started his show on life, nature, people, and arts, in Kurdistan and elsewhere. Bawar hopes he can work with people different parts of the world and show nation’s art to the whole world. Bawar’s photograph Spring is Here, in the category of Artistic Photography scored 66.5 (Value 13, Clarity 12, Composition 17.5, Style 12, Skill 12) from our international jury of 5, and gains a good position in the competition. Shahnaz Parvin is an Award-Winning Photo Journalist. She is a passionate Bangalee, and resides in Bangladesh. Though she is doing a job as system admin in a PSI company, her real passion lays in photography and learning it. Shahnaz mostly loves documentary photography, and loves to represent her country Bangladesh through her lens. With the highest number of Photo of the Month and Photo of the Day Awards, recently Shahnaz joined Light and Composition from March 2013. Covering upheaval, conflict, places, people, and culture, she is the new Media Head for Asia. Saniar Rahman Rahul was the first winner for ‘Photo of the Month Award’ in June 2010. He was fascinated by seeing his father taking pictures with a camera while his family was in Iraq during his childhood. Later in life, in 1997, while he became very much attached with his profession of ‘graphic design’, Rahul rediscovered the creative side of photography. He started his career as a professional graphic designer in October of 1995, in a pre-press house called Color Scan, which is one of the pioneers in the pre-process printing media in Bangladesh. Saniar’s photograph Indian Pond Heron, in the category of Wildlife Photography scored 69 (Value 12, Clarity 12.5, Composition 18, Style 13, Skill 13.5) from our international jury of 5, and gains a good position in the competition. Zahraa Al Hassani is a passionate photographer, and works as designer in Zain Telecommunications for more than 6 years. Graduating from the University of Technology Bagdad, her first job was at Wacther Company Ltd. as a graphic designer for constructions. A year later she joined Iraqi-American Chamber for Commerce and Industry. Zahraa’s photograph Fall in Love, in the category of Nature Photography scored 67.5 (Value 13, Clarity 12, Composition 18, Style 12.5 Skill 12) from our international jury of 5, and gains a good position in the competition.
