Joaquín Arellano is a software engineer, but his passion is photography, who enjoys nature and macro most. He also likes to experiment with different techniques. He loves photography since childhood, but it was until 2009 he came to photography when he bought his first equipment – a Nikon Coolpix P90. Joaquín’s photograph Its Space awarded in the Photo of the Day Award in the category of Close-Up Photography, as it scored a solid 70 (Value 13, Clarity 13, Composition 18, Style 13, Skill 13) from our international jury of 5. The number of Google+, Facebook shares, and StumbleUpon Organic Views boosted the popularity of the photograph, raising its score to 2.61 from social media (Facebook Share 2.51, G+ 0.1, StumbleUpon Organic View 0.000, and Comments 0), and in total 72.61, the highest score in this competition for the 57th Month. This photograph is the winner of Photograph of the Month – 57th Month, 1st Place.

Zahraa Al Hassani is a passionate photographer, and works as designer in Zain Telecommunications for more than 6 years. Graduating from the University of Technology Bagdad, her first job was at Wacther Company Ltd. as a graphic designer for constructions. A year later she joined Iraqi-American Chamber for Commerce and Industry. Zahraa’s photograph Allah is the Designer awarded in the Photo of the Day Award in the category of Artistic Photography, as it scored a solid 69 (Value 13, Clarity 12, Composition 18, Style 13, Skill 13) from our international jury of 5. The number of Google+, Facebook shares, and StumbleUpon Organic Views boosted the popularity of the photograph, raising its score to 3.465 from social media (Facebook Share 3.46, G+ 0, StumbleUpon Organic View 0.005, and Comments 0), and in total 72.465, the 2nd highest score in this competition for the 57th Month.

We will publish a special interview with Joaquín Alonso Arellano Ramírez and Zahraa Al Hassani in the Exclusive Interview section on our website.

For this month, we had a head-to-head contest between the top scorers and the photographs that scored the highest became winners of the Photo of the Month. Our team decided to honor these top scorers as 2nd and 3rd places with a page in the next issue of our magazine, where the photographers will share their stories of these photographs. Prasanth Chandran’s passion for photography is what reflects in his photographs. In each image, which he captures through his camera, he wants the world to see and know the story within. The journey with his camera, as an amateur photographer, began in the year 2009. Prasanth’s photograph Sail Along, in the category of Travel Photography scored 69 (Value 13, Clarity 13, Composition 18, Style 13, Skill 12) from our international jury of 5, and gains a good position in the competition. The number of Google+ and Facebook shares, StumbleUpon Organic Views boosted the popularity of the photograph a notch, raising its score to 2.05 from social media (Facebook Share 1.145, G+ 0.9, StumbleUpon Organic View 0.005, and Comments 0), and in total 71.05, the second highest score in this competition for the 57th Month. This photograph is the winner of Photograph of the Month – 57th Month, 2nd Place.

Achintya Kumar Guchhait started taking photos from a early age with a ‘Snapper’. In those days, he used to grab his father’s camera whenever he was not the subject. It was not until late 2008 when he bought his first digital camera, a canon s5is, and started taking snaps as he liked. Achintya’s photograph The Morning News, in the category of Street Photography scored 68 (Value 13, Clarity 13, Composition 18, Style 12, Skill 12) from our international jury of 5, and gains a good position in the competition. By profession Partha Roy is an IT engineer working as a Software Analyst in a Bank. He has a passion towards photography from his childhood and likes to capture each and every moment of life and beauty of nature. His passion and the hobby towards photography gradually made him a photographer as he always likes to spend his free time with his camera. Partha’s photograph Burning City awarded in the Photo of the Day Award in the category of Sunrise and Sunset Photography, as it scored a solid 67 (Value 13, Clarity 12, Composition 18, Style 12, Skill 12) from our international jury of 5.
