Southern Alps Sunset by Lydia Sutcliffe

My parents have a house where the backyard looks out towards these beautiful Southern Alps (Mount Hutt). My father and I went for a walk as the sun started to set, before crossing the bridge we definitely had to snap some photos as it looks surreal. The Rakaia River/Gorge looked so crystal clear and blue, it was truly stunning.

I am a 26 year old who has constantly had a passion for photography and loved doing it for fun and now partially work. I did A & A2 level Cambridge photography exams and came first in the class for two years in a row, selling work picked out by my teacher. Now, at 26, my father gifted me his old Minolta camera, which I had never shot on, or had ever used film. Since then, I have been in love with film photography and am awaiting a new polaroid to come through also.

What a beautiful landscape shot. The colour, light and depth this image captures speaks many words. Love the perspective angle of the bridge heading through the forest. The multicoloured tones from sky to River.
    Very talented capture, picture perfect.

This evokes romance, home, hope and warmth, what I would do to wander across this bridge and feel so small in such a beautiful part of the world, stunning work.

This photo perfectly captures a romantic night I long for, holding the hand of my significant other and whispering sweet nothings to each other. Beautiful photo.
