Striking a Pose, by Claudio Bacinello

I had just received a new camera body which I had ordered and was testing it around my neighbourhood. As a wildlife photographer, I often photograph insects and other macro subjects during the summer months. As I was shooting, I came across this praying mantis sunning itself and took a series of photographs with my macro lens. The angle and tilt of the head as well as the apparent eye contact made this my favourite of the series.
