The awrah is an important part in Islam. The essence of it is covering, well and loose and making sure it fits the guidelines. To me this photograph portrays that the Muslims are kind of a strangers among the others in an urban environment. They are different souls, who do not mind the other’s perspective towards them, as they are only seeking the blessing from Almighty, and most importantly they do it as an act of obedience to Allah. This photograph reminds me to remember the purpose of living in this world.
This photograph also reminds me about one teaching of prophet Mohammad (PBUH). Narrated by Abu Huraira, that the Messenger of Allah (May peace be upon him) said, “Islam initiated as something strange, and it would revert to its (old position) of being strange, so good tidings for the stranger.” (Sahih Muslim, Hadith no: 270)

Ahmad Jaa had found the fun and enjoyment of photography just recently in 2011, even though he had started somewhere around 2008. Although his main interest is in geometry, he shoots whatever that attracts him and does not restrict himself to a certain genre. His journey in photography is more about discovering himself. And by understanding himself, he was able to express more freely and sincerely. Since then, photography had open up a new perspective in his life. As a self taught photographer, he is continuously trying to improve and learning the ways to become better.
