Trees in Winter by Frank Ivar Hansen

The picture is taken in the deciduous forest on a cold winter day. The trunks and branches of the trees stretch to the sky in winter. A large part of a tree’s body is found above ground – the branches and the trunk. These parts need to withstand the cold winter air. In winter water freezes to ice. The trees cannot absorb water, therefore, transpiration becomes impossible. But the trees stand beautiful, monumental in the winter forest.
