This was taken on the 4th of August,2016. I had been invited to tag a long with the Burnie SES (State Emergency Service), which is a volunteer based emergency service. I had spent most of the night taking photos of the guys and girls, setting things up for the training exercise, which was training for a collapsed building. I then ventured inside the training area and started taking photos as best I could. I had been using a combination of my Nikon and iPhone 6s, which actually captured this shot. I chose to use B&W as it highlighted the action that was happening at the time, and made the torch beams stand out more.

Starting in Melbourne, Australia, Blair Horgan learned the basics from Rennie Ellis while on work experience, and caught the photography bug way back in 1991. Photography has always been in the background, just that his life got in the way. He has taken it up full-time, as life allows him time with photography, his family and his daughters love to pose, be part of what he does. He finds that he prefers capturing life as it happens, not posing for it.
