As a wildlife and nature photographer, birds are among my favorite subjects and also the most challenging to capture. The Red Breasted Nuthatch is particularly challenging because they are in almost constant motion. For this image, I selected a dry branch for the bird to land on and provided food and water nearby and then patiently waited for him to use the branch to rest on before feeding.
