Doctor of Philosophy (PhD)
Light & Composition University's Doctoral Program represents the highest level of academic and creative achievement we offer — a rigorous, research-led journey for scholars and image-makers who are ready to expand the boundaries of their field. Rooted in art, photography, visual language, and linguistics, the PhD is built for those with something genuinely original to contribute and the intellectual depth to pursue it at doctoral level.
We recognise the full breadth of what you bring: your professional practice, creative body of work, published research, and academic foundations. Doctoral candidates work closely with expert mentors to develop independent, original inquiries that advance knowledge within visual culture, artistic theory, or the evolving language of the image — producing scholarship that endures beyond the degree itself.
