One of the most fascinating treks I have ever done was in the Garhwal Himalayas, India. It was the one to Tapovan, the basecamp of Mount Shivling. I was right behind the porter who carried all the amenities for camping while crossing the deadly Gangotri glacier, the source of the river Ganges.
While roaming around in the last village in the Indo-Tibet border called Chitkul, in the state of Himachal Pradesh, I came upon these local kids who were playing outside their school during break and decided to give me a pose for this photograph.
During a visit to the Himalayan district of Ladakh in the state of Jammu and Kashmir, India, I caught these Tibetan women in frame who were returning after the Ladakh festival. The festival gives a lot of scope to photographers who love to click portraits.
