Born in 1965 in Singapore, photography was one of the old hobbies of Siew Bee Lim. Now she would like to learn it formally via Light & Composition platform as she believes it’s not too late. Siew’s photograph “Sharing an Umbrella” awarded in the Photo of the Day Award in the category of Minimalistic Photography, as it scored a moderate 69.5 (Value 13, Clarity 13, Composition 18.5, Style 13, Skill 12) from our international jury of 5. Looking into the Vastness, by Dipanjan Mitra
Being a software professional since 1999, Dipanjan Mitra always had an intense desire to travel across the Indian terrains. It was long inhibited till 2006 when his journey began with a small digital camera in the state of Karnataka. The world of photography really got him going when he moved on to a relatively higher end digital camera in the form of Canon S5 IS which he had used for around 2 years, trying to learn the magic of shutter and aperture until the real journey began with a Rebel T1i in May 2010. Dipanjan’s photograph “Looking into the Vastness”, in the category of Travel Photography scored a moderate 67.5 (Value 12, Clarity 12, Composition 18, Style 13, Skill 12.5) from our international jury of 5. The number of organic and total social share along with the organic reach and comments boosted the popularity of the photograph, raising its score to 11.25 from social media (Organic Share 3.34, Total Share 5, Organic Reach/View 2.91, and Comments 0), and in total 78.75, the second highest score in this competition for the 91st Month. Dimitrios Zavos is an independent, freelance travel and wildlife photographer and writer. Born on the beautiful Greek island of Samos, Dimitrios moved to Athens when he was just two years old. After spending his childhood and teeange years in Athens, he moved to the United Kingdom in 2007. Dimitrios is currently based in Farnborough, England. Dimitrios’s photograph “Seoul Lights”, in the category of Night Photography scored a moderate 68 (Value 13, Clarity 12, Composition 18, Style 12, Skill 13) from our international jury of 5. The number of organic and total social share along with the organic reach and comments boosted the popularity of the photograph, raising its score to 10.66 from social media (Organic Share 2.46, Total Share 4.2, Organic Reach/View 1.2, and Comments 2.8), and in total 78.66, the third highest score in this competition for the 91st Month. Seeking the Warmth, by Abdellah Azizi
Born in Ouarzazate in 1987, Abdellah Azizi is a passionate photographer from Morocco, who loves to photograph South Moroccan landscapes, people, folklorists’ bands, and the life of the rich part of Africa. After finishing high school, Abdellah applied for the Institute specialized for film industry, where he studied for two years on techniques of lighting, and griping. Then he moved to Casablanca to study camera work, and audio-visual post production for a year. He started to work as camera an assistant, lighting technician, and also worked for a local e-magazine, as videographer. Abdellah’s photograph “Seeking the Warmth”, in the category of Travel Photography scored a moderate 68 (Value 13, Clarity 12, Composition 18, Style 12, Skill 13) from our international jury of 5. The number of organic and total social share along with the organic reach and comments boosted the popularity of the photograph, raising its score to 8.37 from social media (Organic Share 2.45, Total Share 3.99, Organic Reach/View 1.93, and Comments 0), and in total 76.37, the forth highest score in this competition for the 91st Month. Jens Hieke was born in 1967 and lives in Leipzig, Saxony, Germany. Though he was a graduate librarian, but working for a broadcaster for some time. He was always fascinated by the unlimited diversity of the world, and only a few years ago he discovered photography as a wonderful possibility to capture the transient, constantly changing beauty of humans, animals and things. Actually a man of words, the passion for photography is more than an addition to his other love, the literature. He had previously photographed with the Samsung NV24HD, but currently the Canon EOS 500D is his catcher. Hieke’s photograph “Blue Hour”, in the category of Color Photography scored a moderate 67 (Value 11, Clarity 12, Composition 18, Style 13, Skill 13) from our international jury of 5. The number of organic and total social share along with the organic reach and comments boosted the popularity of the photograph, raising its score to 9.36 from social media (Organic Share 3.18, Total Share 4.06, Organic Reach/View 2.12, and Comments 0), and in total 76.36, the fifth highest score in this competition for the 91st Month.
