Milano Street 41 by Giampaolo Antoni

This shot was taken at the Milan station during a day dedicated to street photography. I was particularly struck by the backlighting of passers-by and the contrast of the buildings in the background. Travelers pass by regardless of me and my camera and I wait for the right moment to shoot.

Giampaolo Antoni is a 60-year-old Tuscan photographer who has been passionate about capturing moments in time for the past four decades. His love for photography started when he was twenty years old, and since then, he has been on a constant quest for landscapes, lights, and subjects that tell stories. Despite his many activities over the years, photography has remained a constant thread in Giampaolo’s life. He has spent years honing his craft, learning how to work with film and medium format cameras, and perfecting his printing techniques in the darkroom remained him to stay attached to the world of black and white through which he can find his best means of expression.
