It’s technically perfect, sure. The light hits that caramel just right. But where’s the pulse? Cartier-Bresson hunted for the heartbeat of the city, not the sheen on a tart. I’m looking for the chaos, the spill, the human hand reaching in before the plate is cleared. It’s too static for me. I’m hungry, but I’m not moved. One tenth of a second later, a crumb could’ve fallen. That’s the moment I’m waiting for.
