Downhill Skating, by Blair Horgan

This photo sums up why I love doing what I do. Just around the corner from my house is the perfect section of downhill road just made for downhill skateboarding. Recently I’ve taken to action photography, new camera and amazing new things to try with it, and allowing me selective or Monochrome shots. The other thing I need to mention is the talented skater who loves doing this downhill kind of madness. We talk about what sort of runs he’s going to do, and I setup down the hill and do what I do with the camera. I need to point out how aware of traffic we need to be when we do this kind of photography. I feel like each time I take photos like this, at the end of it I’m always thinking afterwards, could I of done this way or try doing this.. And as always trying to think up better ways to get the best photos.

Photo of the Day Award Category: Motion Photography

Starting in Melbourne, Australia, Blair Horgan learned the basics from Rennie Ellis while on work experience, and caught the photography bug way back in 1991. Photography has always been in the background, just that his life got in the way. He has taken it up full-time, as life allows him time with photography, his family and his daughters love to pose, be part of what he does. He finds that he prefers capturing life as it happens, not posing for it.
