Captured during the early spring on Table Mountain, this image highlights a curious moment as a Dalmatian grazes on fresh greenery. The photographer utilized a wide 18mm focal length to capture both the subject and the expansive, iconic landscape, balancing the dog's playful behavior against the natural beauty of the mountain. The shot is award-worthy for its candid charm and the technical precision required to freeze the animal's movement in the bright, open conditions of the South African spring, turning a simple, everyday observation into a delightful and well-composed nature study.
Born in Harrismith and raised in Pretoria, Naude Visser is a South African lawyer and qualified tourist guide now based in the Vredehoek suburb of Cape Town. Though he is a relative newcomer to the craft, having received his first camera as a gift, he has quickly developed a passion for landscape and nature photography. Drawing inspiration from the scenic routes between Cape Town and Struis Bay, Visser brings a keen eye for detail and a deep appreciation for his country's natural beauty to his emerging body of work.
