Mahatma All Alone by Sandeep Chandra

Captured at Malpe Beach in Udupi, India, during the golden hour around 6 PM, this evocative photograph features a statue of Mahatma Gandhi silhouetted against the fading light. The composition invites the viewer to contemplate the figure of Gandhi looking out over independent India, questioning the weight of the struggle for freedom. By juxtaposing a historical icon with the serene, expansive backdrop of the coastline, the photographer creates a poignant narrative on legacy and reflection. The image is award-worthy for its ability to transform a static monument into a deeply emotional, thought-provoking commentary on national identity and the passage of time.

The composition is extremely beautiful and the silhouette is just perfect, the colors non-producible by anyone but mother nature herself… On the whole perfect pic to win an award :) Congrats mate.
