Elephant Safari by Kamalesh Das

Captured during an early morning safari in the Gorumara Wildlife Sanctuary, this image documents a poignant moment of discovery. As the dense morning fog lifted under the first light of day, the photographer observed a young boy sitting with his father atop an elephant, both witnessing the awakening wilderness. The composition masterfully balances the vast, ethereal atmosphere of the West Bengal landscape with the intimate, awe-struck expression of the child. This photograph is award-worthy for its ability to transform a travel experience into a timeless narrative of human connection with nature, rendered with technical precision and a deep sense of wonder.

The image says it all. A superb one I must say. I have been to Gorumara 3 times and experienced the elephant safari each time there. Yatra Prasad watch tower is the best I think.

BDW it is a nice post to come across. Congrats…! I have shared my experiences in my blog, you may have a look.

    Regards,
    Abhijit
