It’s a desperate attempt to carve out a sanctuary against the blinding, indifferent glare of the horizon. I find myself shivering at the sheer exposure of it all; there’s no shelter here, only a fragile, colorful lie. When the light is this absolute, it doesn’t reveal; it obliterates. It’s a photograph terrified of the dark, and therefore, it’s hollow.
