Namaste by Ryszard Wierzbicki
In Nepal, hospitality is more than politeness—it's part of everyday culture. People often greet visitors with a warm “Namaste,” a slight bow, and a smile. They often offer milk tea, or the popular butter tea with salt, especially in the cooler areas around Kathmandu. In villages, guests are treated almost like blessings. Families share the best food they have, even if it's not much, and invite visitors to sit, talk, and see their home. In cities, the warmth can feel a little more reserved, but smiles, small conversations, and generosity still leave a strong impression on travelers. Tourists are greeted by all Nepalese, including children, and this girl is a good example of this.
