Across the Threshold
I remember sitting in my grandmother’s house during family gatherings, where a curtain often divided the men’s conversations from the women’s laughter. As a young girl, I would sneak beneath the hem of that curtain, fascinated by how identical the laughter sounded on both sides. Why do we cling to the comfort of separation? It is always easier to label another soul than to listen to them across the divide. But every time a voice reaches across that silent space with truth and compassion, the boundary thins just a little more, until one day only the open room remains.

In The Gap, photographer Syed Asir Ha-Mim Brinto captures that poignant tension with extraordinary artistic maturity. It invites dialogue rather than conflict. What does this divide say to you?
