The Quiet Between Breaths

I spent this morning trying to organize my bookshelf, but I ended up just sitting on the floor, reading the spines instead of moving them. It is funny how we think we need to be constantly rearranging our lives to make sense of them. I had a whole list of things to finish, yet I stayed there for an hour, watching the dust motes dance in a stray beam of light. There is a specific kind of peace that comes when you stop trying to force order onto things. Sometimes, the most honest way to exist is simply to be still, letting the world happen around you without needing to label or change it. We spend so much energy chasing the next thing, the next task, the next version of ourselves. But what if the point isn’t to get anywhere at all? What if the point is just to notice the way the air feels when you finally stop running?

Into the Hue of Nature by Fidan Nazim Qizi

Fidan Nazim Qizi has captured this exact feeling of stillness in her beautiful image titled Into the Hue of Nature. It feels like a deep, steady breath taken in the middle of a busy day. Does this scene make you want to slow down, too?
