Home Reflections The Weight of Silence

The Weight of Silence

I woke up before the alarm today, just as the house was settling into that heavy, pre-dawn quiet. Usually, I rush to fill the silence with the radio or the hum of the kettle, but this morning I just sat by the window. Everything outside was draped in a thick, grey blanket that seemed to swallow the world whole. It felt like the earth was holding its breath, waiting for permission to begin the day. We spend so much of our lives trying to see clearly, constantly pushing to find the edges of things, but there is a strange comfort in not knowing exactly where the horizon ends. In the fog, the sharp corners of our worries soften. We are allowed to be small, to be hidden, and to simply exist without the pressure of being seen. It makes me wonder if we are actually more honest when we can’t see everything in front of us. What do you find when the world goes quiet and the view disappears?

Misty Morning at Munnar by Prasanth Chandran

Prasanth Chandran has captured this exact feeling of stillness in his beautiful image titled Misty Morning at Munnar. It feels like a deep, slow breath caught in time. Does this quiet landscape bring you a sense of peace or something else entirely?
