Small Shelters in Vast Spaces
I spent this morning trying to organize my bookshelf, pulling out old paperbacks I haven’t touched in years. I found a receipt tucked into a travel journal from a trip I took when I was twenty. It was just a scrap of paper, but it brought back the feeling of being completely small in a place that didn’t know my name. We spend so much of our lives trying to build walls, to define our territory, to make ourselves feel permanent. But sometimes, when you are standing in the middle of a landscape that feels infinite, you realize how fragile those walls really are. There is a strange comfort in that insignificance. It reminds us that we are just passing through, guests in a world that is much older and much larger than our own worries. Does it ever make you feel lighter, knowing that you are just a tiny part of a much bigger story?

Shikchit Khanal has captured this feeling perfectly in his image titled Magical View Point. It shows how even the smallest human touch can find a place in the most overwhelming landscapes. What do you think of when you see such a quiet spot in the middle of nowhere?
