Hidden in Plain Sight
I spent twenty minutes this morning looking for my keys, only to find them sitting on the kitchen counter exactly where I had left them. It is funny how we can look right at something and still not see it. We get so caught up in the rush of the day, scanning for what we need, that we lose the ability to notice the quiet surprises hiding in the corners of our own lives. There is a specific kind of joy in being found, or in finding something that wasn’t trying to be hidden at all. It reminds me that life isn’t always about the grand search or the big destination. Sometimes, the best moments are the ones that wait patiently for us to stop moving long enough to pay attention. When was the last time you were truly surprised by something sitting right in front of you?

Tisha Clinkenbeard has captured this exact feeling of playful discovery in her image titled Peek-a-who?. It is a wonderful reminder to keep our eyes open for the small, hidden joys in our daily routines. Does this image bring a smile to your face today?
