At 1/850th, Jamil has frozen the currency into static, sterile confetti. It’s technically competent, sure, but it’s also remarkably safe. I’m left craving the kinetic energy of the scene; why resolve every bill so sharply? If he’d dragged the shutter, he could’ve turned this chaos into a blur of color, closer to Sugimoto’s long-exposure theatres than this rigid documentary style. It’s a missed opportunity to let the motion tell the story instead of the shutter.
