1/80sec at f/8, 16mm. The Sigma 10-20mm is a sharp tool, but f/8 at 16mm creates a deep, clinical focus that flattens the tunnel’s geometry. It’s technically sound, yet it lacks the separation I’d prefer for a portrait. The shutter speed is just enough to freeze the movement, but the motion blur on the boots is a mistake. I’ve spent years in these tunnels; the damp chill here actually makes me shiver. It’s precise, but cold.

It’s a gritty, well-earned frame. One suspects he didn't just stumble upon this soldier. He waited for the shot.
