Photo of the Day | July 08 | Intrigue! by Ruben Alexander

Rain drops on flowers make for some very intriguing sights especially when viewed up close. This shot of the Peruvian Lily was taken at the Republic Day Flower show at Lalbagh in Bangalore. Since I do not have a dedicated macro lens in my kitty, I used the 50mm reversed with aperture locked at f/8.0. But the milling crowd at the show made taking this photo a real challenge.
Technical Info: Canon EOS Digital Rebel XSi | Exposure 1/50sec @ f/1.8 | ISO800

Photographer: Ruben Alexander ( Bangalore, India )
Ruben Alexander hails from Bangalore, India. He pursues left brained activity as a techie in the IT industry and right brained activity as a self-taught rookie photographer. Photography and photos have always piqued his interest. He used to “shoot from the hip” when he had a P&S cam, but since the time he got his first SLR in 2010, the learning drive and quest to “make pics” has increased by leaps and bounds. He believes that a ‘discerning photographic eye’ is far more important than all the equipment in the camera bag! Photography to him is a means to express his creativity and at the same time a great stress buster. Most of his current photography work revolves around nature, macro and a few creative still shots. Landscape, Portrait, Travel and Street photography interest him and he plans to delve into them as he progresses on his learning curve.
His Camera gear: Canon EOS Digital Rebel XSi, Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 II Lens, Canon EF-S 18-55/3.5-5.6 Lens, Canon EF-S 55-250mm f/4.0-5.6 IS Telephoto Zoom Lens
