It’s time to travel around the world with Photo of the Day
The Photo of the day is awarded to photographers, who take the lead and take us to those places, culture, people and their descriptions.
In the course of 29 days, from June 12 to July 10, 2010, Photo of the day traveled around the world with 20 photographers.
From the Espigüete peak of northern mountains range of Spain, hiking with photographer Félix Sánchez-Tembleque or getting the essence of life from the people of Bay of Bengal in Bangladesh with photographer Mostafa Monwar, showed us the diverseness of life.
We encourage photographers to submit their best photos, from all corners of the world that you have travelled…. Giving us a glimpse of your roads travelled.
Jim, Sanjay, Emilie, Arnab, Monwar, Laranjeira, Vijaya, Robin, Nghia, Felix, Waseef, James, Orhan, Aarthi, Robart, Fernando, Alonzo, Sergio, Ronnie and Mike took the lead and showed us the extra ordinary experiences of life on earth & shared their wonderful photographs, selected from more than hundred entries, submitted.
Selecting a photograph for the award is not always easy. We follow criteria that we believe a photograph must be judged with. We give emphasis on standard of the photograph as well as the style and skill of that photographer. To better understand this you can read the book, The Quintessence of Photography: Understanding Composition, which is now supportive text book in some universities in the field of Artistic Photography.
Getting selected as photo of the Day, a photograph needs to get at least 35 out of 60 ( Value 10, Clarity 10, Composition 20, Style 10, and Skill 10 ). Tweet, retweet, Like in Facebook and comments contain another 40, and that remains to you, our subscribers, who believe photography from purist perspective.
Showing your support and voting is really simple. You need to visit the photographs by clinking on them and then tweet or re-tweet it, and click on the Facebook “Like” button, and let the world know that the true essence of photography really does matter.
