Not Reading Poetry by Leanne Lindsay
This day I dedicated to taking some street photographs and one of my favourite places to go to watch people is the Museum of Contemporary Art, Sydney. I found an installation I was intrigued with and placed myself as inconspicuously as possible, in the corner, watching people and waiting for something interesting to happen. I waited patiently for a while - maybe 1/2 an hour but nothing was happening. While waiting, I decided on a different approach and, not wanting to take a boring photo, decided to take a photo where the art installation was in focus but the people walking past were blurred. I set up my camera to take the shot I envisioned. I noticed this couple walking around, not really paying attention to the art and decided that if they walked past this artwork, I would take the photo. After some time, they walked past the art installation and as I had predicted, they didn't stop to contemplate the artwork, but walked straight past it. That's when I took the shot. It came out exactly as I had envisioned.
Just for fun by Leanne Lindsay
Luna Park Sydney is an historic theme park on Sydney's spectacular Sydney Harbour, frequented for generations just for fun. On this day, I had gone there to take some street photography photos as you can usually find some interesting characters there. This clown caught my attention - she has such a lovely, happy smile, so I asked her if I could take her photo while she spun her hula hoop. Of course, she said 'Yes'.
Harbour Bridge 2 by Leanne Lindsay
There's something about seeing this iconic landmark in black and white that makes it feel even more timeless, don't you think? I took this photograph, in black and white, one day when I was in the city for some street photography. I can't help myself - once I get to the Sydney Harbour Bridge, I have to photograph it from every angle and from every perspective. It doesn't matter how many photographs I have of this magnificent bridge I always need more.
