Marissa Tejada
Marissa is an author and award-winning freelance journalist based in Greece. She was born in Brooklyn, New York and grew up on Long Island (NY) and has followed her media career across the world. She has lived in Upstate New York, London, Los Angeles, Washington State, Orlando and San Francisco.
Her interest in photography first piqued in college where she mastered her hand-me-down Minolta XD5 45 mm film camera. She happily spent hours in the dark room to develop her projects which had a photo journalistic focus. Since then she’s worked on both sides of the camera, from behind the scenes at an international news bureau to covering local and national news as a television reporter and anchor. Currently, as a freelance journalist, travel writer and blogger she shoots for many of her stories.
Marissa loves travelling in Europe and discovering its history and many cultures. In Greece, she has a soft-spot for the whitewashed buildings and clear blue seas of the Cycladic Islands where every corner has the potential for a great shot. Her blog, my Greece, my travels, is her outlet to share her travel experiences and photography from around the country.
Abhishek Asthana
Abhishek Asthana is a coder by profession, which lets me make sufficient money to buy a lens once in a while and sponsor my vacations. He started photography during his school days with a small manual camera which didn’t have flash. Later he started experimenting with monochrome films, since he didn’t have scanner or much idea about editing of photos this experiment was quite limited in nature. He took photography seriously only after leaving college and got his first digital camera, an Olympus FE10 which was followed by Sony DSC H7 super zoom. His first and only DSLR is Nikon D3000 with a recently bought Sigma 18-200 mm lens. He tried hand at bird photography (with a Nikon 80-400 mm lens) and quite enjoyed it too and He thinks He does not have any particular genre that he can tag his photography with but he enjoy shooting life, people and common everyday happenings around us most. Apart from photography he likes adventure activities, trekking and volunteering. He is co-founder of http://DonateYourPC.in, a website that lets people donate their old PCs/peripherals to charities/schools in India.
