In Chlumec nad Cidlinou there were demonstrations of a soldier during the First Republic to the establishment of our country 100 years anniversary. The president was Tomas Garyk Masaryk. The castle "Karlova Koruna" (Charles's Crown) is one of the foremost Baroque castles in the Czech Republic and its plans were drawn by Jan Santini Aichel, one of the main baroque architects of Italian origin. A Beggar on Charles Bridge by Mirka Krivankova

Charles Bridge is the oldest standing bridge over the Vltava River in Prague and the second oldest surviving bridge in the Czech Republic. Here you can find beggars who will kneel for hours on the pavement in supplication, or just sitting and waiting for others who may grant a favor with money.
