The Threads of Tomorrow

There is no single future tense in English — instead there are many graceful ways to reach into tomorrow, and this course teaches you to choose among them with ease.

From spontaneous promises to long-range plans, from timetables to timelines, you will master the full toolkit for planning, predicting, and picturing what is still to come.

Course Overview

English hides a surprising truth: it has no future tense marked on the verb at all. Instead, it offers a rich family of forms — will, be going to, the present tenses pressed into future service, and the future aspects — each shaded to say exactly how tomorrow will unfold. This course gathers that whole family into one clear, confident system.

Over eight lessons you will learn to make promises and predictions with will, announce plans with be going to, read the future from timetables and arrangements, describe actions in progress with the future continuous, mark completion with the future perfect, measure duration with the future perfect continuous, and even narrate the future from a past viewpoint. A final module steps back to reveal the four aspects that unify every tense in English.

It is written for adult learners who already speak some English and want their talk of the future to sound natural, precise, and fluent — whether for study, work, or everyday conversation. No prior grammar training is required, only curiosity and a willingness to practise aloud.
