Mastering the Art of Travel Photography
PHO 329 is a 300-level travel photography course built on the field notes of a working travel photographer. The first three lessons are grounded entirely in the source travel journal — its poetic sense of essence, its blunt reality checks, and its account of chasing a Himalayan sunrise above the Nagarkot–Bhaktapur trek. The remaining lessons expand that philosophy into a working craft you can practise anywhere.
You will learn to widen your definition of travel, plan a journey with real logistics, be in the right place at the right time, carry a minimal kit that serves the walk, get lost responsibly, and make time your friend. Every lesson asks you to act, not merely to read, so that awareness turns steadily into experience.
This course is for serious adult learners who want more than postcards — photographers willing to trade a little comfort for genuine encounter, and to bring home a story rather than a souvenir.
