Leading Photography Education: Innovation, Leadership, and Educational Practice
The leadership course of the Light and Composition University's Master of Education in Photography. Built on the Dean's book on leadership beyond the classroom, it prepares the experienced educator for the work no one sees: protecting the teaching, growing the teachers, holding the standard, renewing a curriculum without betraying its purpose, and making quality assurance and administration serve learning instead of burying it.
The course then widens to the people and the world — mentoring a faculty, leading the adoption of technology and AI with neither fear nor fashion, building communities where photographers belong, thinking in years while acting in days, and holding power ethically — before closing with a leadership practicum: the vision, strategy, and faculty-development portfolio for the programme the student would build.
