Advanced Black & White: Documentary, Style, and Mastery
This advanced course is for the photographer who has stopped asking how to make a black-and-white image and started asking why. It treats monochrome as a documentary and expressive language: the decisive moment in the street, tonal control read straight from the histogram and RAW file, the long exposure that turns time into atmosphere, the monochrome portrait, and the discipline of building a series rather than collecting single frames.
Grounded in the Dean's A Photographer's Guide to Black & White Photography, the course moves from documentary seeing to a recognisable personal style and a finished, cohesive body of work — culminating in a submission to the Light & Composition Photo of the Day Award.
