Explore the Very Moments of Our Presence on This Earth

The journey of Photo of the Day is endless, from one continent to the next, a journey that gives one an understanding of people, nature, and culture. We believe, when one feels it from the heart and captures the moment with their camera, it becomes iconic, which is special to share with the whole world. Let’s share it with others.

Up Close and Personal with Mount Cook by Farhat Memon

Lake Matheson on the West Coast of South Island New Zealand is fascinating and beautiful. Promising pristine reflections almost all day long all year round, this gorgeous lake attracts tourists from all over the world. I was on a scouting trip to the lake, being my first time here and I needed to understand the terrain and locations for a sunrise shoot. Thus, I was walking with just a few lenses but without my tripod. Now even though the sunrise images are stunning, this particular shot is close to my heart as it depicts the beauty of Lake Matheson under such a moody and gloomy sky.

On the train, a little boy sits next to his father, their journey is made more pleasant by the rhythmic sound of its movement. The boy's face is animated with curiosity, his eyes bright as he asks why dad, and a series of questions one after the other. He seems fascinated by the world around him, and his father patiently answers each query with a smile.
