Olive Trees in the Snow by Daniele Leone

Captured on a rare and heavy snowfall on December 31, 2014, this image depicts the surreal beauty of olive trees blanketed in white within a seaside resort in Puglia. Despite being bedridden with a severe flu, the photographer was compelled to venture out to capture the brilliant, sun-drenched morning. The photograph is award-worthy for its striking juxtaposition of Mediterranean flora against an unexpected winter landscape, showcasing a masterful balance of light and composition that transforms a familiar coastal setting into an ethereal, wintry dreamscape.
