Tsomgo Lake’s stillness here feels almost clinical, a byproduct of that frantic 1/3509sec shutter speed. It’s technically perfect, yet I’m left cold. Why resolve every grain of snow so aggressively? It’s closer to a tourist’s inventory than Hiroshi Sugimoto’s meditative long-exposure voids. I’d have traded that clinical sharpness for a smear of motion, a blur that actually captures the biting wind. It’s a missed opportunity to let the atmosphere breathe beyond the sensor’s rigid, boring limits.
