The journey of Photo of the Day is endless, from one continent to the next, a journey that gives one an understanding of people, nature, and culture. We believe, when one feels it from the heart and captures the moment with their camera, it becomes iconic, which is special to share with the whole world. Let’s share it with others.

Poverty and despondency are what you see in my eyes. The unoccupied dwellings and waste land are the source of my livelihood. The word called "NEGLECT" is used for 11million of us. I wear all colours fearing none. Talent which we have are remained amongst and buried with us when we die. We are not any burden on the world, but still people use the word NEGLECT for us.

There is a happy feeling when you see this picture, but there is always another dark side of the moon, shows how the young minds are thinking of world and India in specific. Around 1.77 million people in India are homeless i.e 0.15% of total population according to the sources. There is an acute shortage of more than 18.75 million houses. The number of people living in slums in India is said to be equal or more than the population of Italy and UK. According to the Indian government survey every 2 out of 3 children living in slums are facing child abuse, another 50% are sexually abuse . Strange to know but even after the death of 27,584 people in 2014 ( according to HT ) 23000 households are still breathing around Mumbai's railway tracks. Who are we? Where are we heading? What do we care for? Why is there a situation as such? When is the change coming?
