A summer tourist’s snap, I’m afraid. It’s a perfectly serviceable postcard, but one can practically smell the cruise ship buffet. 1/125sec at f/4, 8.65mm. It’s a compact sensor trying to do a full-frame job. The depth of field is too shallow for the scale of the Yeni Camii, leaving the peripheral architecture soft. I’ve seen this sensor struggle with dynamic range before, and it’s clear here. It’s technically insufficient for the subject’s grandeur. I find the lack of sharpness across the frame genuinely frustrating. You can’t capture history with a sensor that’s already given up.
