Two Boys in the Courtyard

My grandfather used to say that you only need two friends in this life who will sit with you in silence and never ask you to explain yourself. I didn’t understand what he meant until years later, standing outside an old rail station in the rain with someone I hadn’t seen in a decade. We barely said twenty words in an hour, and yet it was the most restorative hour of my year. We spend so much energy explaining ourselves to strangers, while our truest friendships ask only that we stand together and let the world pass by.

Friend by Javed Miandad

Looking at Javed Miandad’s ‘Friend’, you can feel the quiet loyalty held within that frame. Through his lens, simple presence becomes a timeless testament to brotherhood. Does this take you somewhere you haven’t visited in years?
